Case 035, "The Interested Party," followed a manufactured bias complaint targeting the city's one incorruptible license examiner, built from two accurate lines she'd once filed about the detective. Facing a Friday reorganization board, the detective chose to step onto the record himself as a named, interested party, converting whispered pretext into something he could answer openly. He kept her desk safe, though Dale noted the cost: the one man the city could never pin down had finally signed his name to paper, by his own hand, to keep her there.

The permanent visibility he took on to save the examiner came due: a clerk found no file behind the new signature and the machine came calling. Closed; tracked forward under `known_not_named` and `the_machine_knows_him`.

The two names bound on the same reorganization record drew an audit of the tie itself, which is how the standing notice found him. Closed; tracked forward under `the_tie_is_the_lever`.

being_known_deepens_by_choice (Case 035, confirmed in Case 036) — offered a clean, free way back into the dark, he chose exposure again, this time all the way to a formal register entry. No longer a one-case event; it's who he is now. Closed as a question;…

The board's Friday session didn't end it; the apparatus kept working the record and a clerk found the gap behind his signature, producing Case 036's standing notice. Closed; tracked forward under `the_tie_is_the_lever`.

Partial_justice (2nd after 031): a manufactured bias complaint, forged from the examiner's own honest word about the detective, nearly cost her the one desk in the machine never bought or fooled. He saved it, but not free — he wrote his own name onto the…

Dead as of Case 021: once he asks it's for a collectible favor (030), and he keeps asking (031) — but there's a ledger even he won't touch (032). Cases 033–041 confirmed he isn't behind everything; some is ordinary greed with no leash. In Case 042 Marchetti…

The theory that being incorruptible protects an honest instrument from removal — dead as of Case 035. The examiner's own honesty was the exact material a manufactured complaint turned into evidence against her.

The detective's remaining anonymity from the civic record itself — dead as of Case 035, this time by his own choice rather than the machine's reach. He wrote his own name onto a reorganization record as a named, interested party, and it can never be unfiled.
